On July 2, 2017 I attended the Atlanta Comic Convention! This was my first time attending this event and I was super excited. There was a ton of local comic book shops, toys, posters, artist, authors, cosplay, etc. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect so I tried to arrive early so that I could experience everything. The thing I was most excited about was the giveaway for Dragon Con tickets. Unfortunately, I didn’t win but I’m happy for the person that did.
My main purpose for attending was to purchase more comic books and learn more about the community. Like I said in one of my previous posts, I am new to reading comics and I want to learn everything I can. Many comic shops were selling books for as low as .25 cents so I definitely took advantage of that. I put myself on a budget, only wanting to spend $30. This was definitely an enjoyable event and for a $5 admission price, you can’t beat it! I think they are held at least 4 times a year, my advice to newcomers are bring plenty of money, a backpack, and a camera.
