Hello All!
Well if you have been following me for a while, you know that I love quick and easy sewing projects! I absolutely love instant gratification and making pretty things! This skirt is Burda 6818 and shirt is McCall’s 6841. Now before we move forward, I did not make the shirt I “borrowed” it from my mom! I will provide her feedback on making the shirt later in the post.
Burda 6818 only has 2 pattern pieces, a front and a back (cut 2 of each). There is a long and short version of the skirt, I decided to go with the short version because the temperatures are warmer now. The skirt has a center front and a center back seam which is one of the design element that I like about the pattern. You can alter the pattern if you do not want the seams, by cutting each piece on the fold but make sure to remove the 5/8 seam allowance, otherwise your skirt may be too big.
My mom stated that McCall’s 6841 was easy to construct and she is on her way to making at least 3 more! I tried my best to steal it but she said “no ma’am, you’ve got to make your own”!!!! The knit fabric for the skirt and the shirt was purchased from Fine Fabrics.
