Hello all!
Happy Hump Day! I know that I have been posting weekly blog posts, but I have to be honest, it has been a struggle. If you watch my recap videos on YouTube, you know that I have been suffering from sciatic nerve pain and it is no joke! I feel for anyone who has ever had to endure this. I usually make several different patterns at one time and then photograph all of the looks in one day, so that I will have plenty to share on the blog and that has been my saving grace!
Today I want to share Butterick 6388. I was initially drawn to this pattern because of the dress but I did not have enough fabric for that view, so I decided to go with the top instead. This top can be worn with jeans, a skirt, and even workout pants. I decided to go with the workout pants options because I’m trying to motivate myself to get back in the gym.
I made one mistake while cutting out the fabric, I cut the wrong end of the side piece but thankfully I was able to find some scrap fabric to finish the look. I was prepared to color block the top with black knit fabric, which would have been awesome as well. I am considering color blocking the next time I sew this pattern. I used a gray knit fabric that I found in my stash, I believe I purchased it from Fabric Mart. Check out the pattern review below.
