Today is another comfy outfit day. Sticking with my theme of quick and easy sewing Simplicity 8378 and 8656 view B was perfect! I made view A of 8656 last week, you can see that post here. Simplicity 8656 view B is the perfect top for the summer, you can wear it with high waist pants, skirts, and shorts. It is the perfect top for showing off the paper bag waist trend. I used a red Ponte knit from Fine Fabrics. The top only has 2 pieces, which you know was right up my alley! I sewed down the shoulder and arm seam, the side seams, and hemmed. I love the way the top fits and I will definitely be making more.
The crop pants are Simplicity 8378, a pattern designed for pattern hacking. There are several different options for this pattern, but I decided to go with the cropped length with the split on the sides because we are approaching summer. I used a black knit fabric from Fine Fabrics. This pattern was also very easy to sew with 3 pieces, the front leg, back leg, and pocket. AND it has an elastic waistband, which is my best friend right now!
