Hello All!
Don’t you just love a cute zipper pouch? Zipper pouches can be made with any type of fabric and the designs can be amazing! The one thing that was missing from my zipper pouches is zipper tabs. Zipper tabs add that extra design layer and you can keep it simple or add some flare. If you want to learn how to sew a pouch with zipper tabs, I created the step by step video tutorial below. You can also find the template for the zipper pouch here Pouch Pattern.
Tools needed for this project:
- 1 fat quarter exterior fabric
- ¼ yard woven interfacing (Iron interfacing to the exterior and lining pieces)
- One 5-inch zipper
- Scissors
- Iron/Ironing board
- Sewing machine
- Coordinating thread
- Pins or clips
If adding a wristlet strap (Optional)
- One 1-inch swivel clasp
- One 1-inch D ring
Check out the tutorial below:
Hello there…..this was the cutest pouch ever…looking forward to making a few of these.
Great job….thanks again!
Thank you!
I noticed your zipper (including tabs) is shorter than the fabric. This is where I’ve always gone wrong…, what measurements ( other than the 5” zipper) did you use?
Cheers
The other measurements are 6.25″.
Thank you for your easy to understand video. So professional looking with the tabs and wrist strap. Nice little touches throughout. Enjoy your tutorials.
Thank you!
