Hello All!
I’ve been wanted to make a wrap dress for a while now, but I couldn’t decide on a pattern. I made the front slit maxi from Mimi G that has a faux wrap top when I first started sewing but I wanted to try something different this time.
This dress also goes along with course 16 in the Sew-It Academy using McCall’s 7135. You can find the Jumpsuit I made from the pattern here. I’m glad I had a video to follow using this pattern because I would have been confused about creating the mock wrap skirt. The dress is actually a maxi, but Mimi G showed us how to shorten the dress if that is your preference.
I used an ITY knit from Fine Fabrics to make this dress. I wasn’t sure how the dress would fit me, so I did not want to use my “good” Ponte knit! LOL! I guess you can call this a wearable muslin. If you would like more information on the Sew-It Academy, you can find it here.
