Hello All! I know it’s been awhile but I’m back! I haven’t been able to sew as much as I would like over the past few weeks because of procrastination! Just being honest! There are so many pieces that I want to sew but I have to utilize the time management strategies that I mentioned in my Time Management post.
This dress is McCall’s 6700, from the Fashion Star collection. I made it in a different color for a friend a while ago but I’m just getting around to making one for myself.
I was on my way out of town one weekend and I decided to stop by Fine Fabrics for a quick fabric fix, I saw this fabric and fell in love! However, I did not realize how thin this fabric was until I began cutting out the pattern but I made it work! Check out the pattern review and pictures below. See you later!
Pattern Description: Misses’ Dress and Belt
Fabric used: ITY Knit
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done? Yes
What size did you cut? 12
Level of difficulty: Easy (Next time I will use a more stable knit, not heavy but stable)
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like how the dress has a very elegant look to it. I did not like the gathers and ties for the shoulder seams.
Pattern alterations or design changes: Instead of doing the gathers and ties for the shoulder seams, I did box pleats.
Would you sew it again? Yes
Would you recommend it for others? Yes
