Happy Monday! I’m making it a point to sew things this year that I will wear outside of blog photos. I love making outfits that I can wear my tennis shoes with because I’m all about comfort. McCall’s 7061 is perfect because it has several different views and it provides comfort and style. Below I will show you how easy view D is too assemble.
Starting with pattern piece #1, pin and sew down the left and right sides of the pocket. After the sides are sewn, press the top, bottom, and the rest of the sides.
Next grab pattern piece #2 and match the dots placed on both pattern piece #1 & #2 then pin and sew the top, bottom, and the rest of the open sides.
Next pin pattern pieces #2 & #3 at the shoulder seams and sew.
Next grab pattern piece #5, the collar, pin across the top and sew.
Once pattern piece is sewn together, turn the pieces with wrong sides together and press. Next add the collar to the front and back pieces with right sides together and sew around. (sorry forgot to photograph).
Next grab pattern piece #6, the sleeves and pin the sleeves to the front and back pieces using the flat method.
Once sleeves are sewn, turn the dress with right sides facing and pin the sleeves and down the length of the dress.
Next grab pattern piece #7 the sleeve bands and pin at the notches and sew. Once sewn, turn the sleeve bands with wrong sides facing then press.
Next add the sleeve bands to the bottom of the sleeves and pin at the notches then sew.
Next grab pattern piece #9, the bottom band and pin each side at the notches then sew.
Once sewn turn with wrong sides facing then press.
Next place the bottom band on the bottom of the dress with right sides facing and pin at the notches then sew.
You are all done!
