Hello All! Today I wanted to share this DIY shirt and pencil skirt. The shirt is McCall’s 7127 view A. At first glance I thought this shirt would be difficult to sew but it was actually very easy. I cut the front piece on the fold and 2 pieces for the back. The key to this shirt is once you sew the shoulder seams, go ahead and hem the edges before sewing the side seams. This will make your life a whole lot easier! For the pencil shirt I took my waist, hip, and length measurements cut two pieces, sewed the side seams, and added elastic to the waist. I had left over fabric from the McCall 6886 dress that I made, so I decided to use the rest for this pencil skirt. I love that the bottom of the fabric had a different detail, but I didn’t have enough fabric to have the same detail on the front and back, so I figured out a way to make this work. The outcome is amazing! Check out the pictures below. See you later!
