McCall’s 7505

Hello All!

I’ve seen this sleeve trend all over the blogs and fashion magazines but at first, I wasn’t interested. There are several different patterns with different sleeve variations but I wanted something quick and easy to make as a sleeve trial run. McCall’s 7505 was perfect! This is a Nicole Miller dress pattern with an option to do a lace overlay. When I saw the pattern, I knew that I had the perfect fabric in my stash. This fabric is a scuba knit that I purchased from Fine Fabrics. Check out the pattern review below:

Pattern Description: M7505 Misses’ Trumpet Sleeve Dresses

Fabric used: Scuba Knit

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done? Yes

What size did you cut? 12 for the top and I graded to a 14 for the hip area

Level of difficulty: Easy

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I had to shorten the sleeves but I didn’t realize it until after I was done

Pattern alterations or design changes: I did not add the zipper in the back and I had to shorten the sleeves by 1 ½ inch.

Would you sew it again? Yes

Would you recommend it for others? Yes

I absolutely love those sleeves on your dress. I didn’t think that I would enjoy that fashion trend, but your choice of pattern and style have changed my mind. Great job!
