New Look 6461

Hello All!

I am always complaining that I don’t have enough tops. Either I have all work tops or I have only casual t-shirt tops. There is never an in between! I keep saying that I am going to make more tops that I can wear to work as well as wear for a casual occasion and I think New Look 6461 is perfect. The entire outfit is very versatile and can work in many situations. I bought this pattern a while ago but I cut the wrong size for the pants so I set it aside thinking that I would lose some weight……Well any who… I didn’t so I decided to purchase the pattern again because I wanted to make it in a fabric that did not have much stretch. Overall, I enjoyed making this pattern because it produced an entire outfit for me and I can wear it to work. Check out the pattern review below:

Pattern Description: Misses’ Dress, Tunic, Top and Cropped Pants

Fabric used: For the top grey and white spandex, it feels like scuba but it has a great amount of stretch and I found it on the spandex aisle at Fine Fabrics. For the pants, a grey cotton tencel from Fine Fabrics

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done? Yes

What size did you cut? 12 for the top and 18 for the pants

Level of difficulty: Easy

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like that the pattern is very easy and straight forward. I did not like that I had to shorten the pants and the shirt

Pattern alterations or design changes: I had to shorten the pants by 3 inches. I shorten the front of the top 3 inches and 5 inches for the back. Short people problems!

Would you sew it again? Yes

Would you recommend it for others? Yes
