New Look 6515

Hello All! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. I was very productive, completing my homework for the week a day early, entering grades, and sewing some handbags! Now if I could do that every week, I would be a time management bandit!!!

Now on to these pants…this is New Look 6515. I automatically fell in love with this pattern when I saw it because of the slits in the front of the shorter option. I still call them culottes but I’m not sure if that is still the proper term. There are several different options for these pants, there is a long and short version, the short version has slits, and it also has the option to add top stitching. There is a front band with elastic only around the back and sides AND pockets!!!!

When I started sewing the pants, I had every intention of making view D adding the slits to the front but I was distracted and sewed all the way down the length of the front pant. I did not want to take them apart so I decided to just go with view C. I cut a size 18 because I was using a woven fabric. Overall this pattern was very easy to sew and I would definitely recommend it for beginners.

The fabric I used for the pants are Santa Barbara Tencel Cotton Chambray for LaFinch Fabrics. This a beautiful flowy fabric that feels amazing and very easy to sew. The top is from Old Navy and the shoes are from Aerosoles.
