Rock your Style-Atlanta Sewing Style

Hello All! When I found out about the Atlanta Sewing Style photo shoot, I knew I wanted to participate immediately. There were two looks for this photo shoot, one you saw earlier this week the spring floral and the second look is rock your style. The rock your style look will be in every photo shoot that Atlanta Sewing Style has this year. Now my style is something that I’m still trying to work out, I know that I love to be comfortable and I know that I love to wear pants, jumpsuits, and comfortable shirts.

I had a hard time trying to figure out what I wanted to make for this particular photo shoot, I don’t know why well maybe I do. Most of the things that I’ve been making lately have been either too big or too small or too baggy and I would look slouchy. In other words, I wasn’t feeling myself at all. Then I found Simplicity 8841 and I decided that this would be a perfect pattern because it only had a few pieces and I love the front pocket detail.

I made view A but next time I will make view C. I had some lightweight denim Tencil fabric from Fine Fabrics that was perfect for the pattern. I decided to pair pants with my logo T-shirt from Derricott’s Designs because I’ve had these shirts for at least a year and I’m just starting to wear them to events. Be the plug right!

Now let’s talk about the photo shoot. There were 18 ladies, including 3 little ones that were absolutely adorable. You can check out Atlanta Sewing Style’s Instagram page to see all of the pictures. Each lady brought their own unique style to the shoot (hence “rock your style”) and they are extremely talented. The photography was done by Shawn Dowdell Photography and the location was Ponce City Market. The weather was perfect, and the location had a lot of great areas to shoot. If you are a seamstress in the Atlanta area, I encourage you to join the Atlanta Sewing Style community.
