Simplicity 1165 + Pattern Review

Happy Monday!

I hope that you all had a great weekend. We had most of last week off, so I am going to be very sluggish today. I did take advantage of the time off and made a couple of handbags.

Today I want to share Simplicity 1165. This is an easy pants pattern that will be great for beginners. I’ve wanted to make a pair of pants with this fabric from Fine Fabrics for a while, but I wanted the perfect pattern. I paired the pants with a white button down from New York & Company. Check out the pattern review below.

Pattern Description: Simplicity Pattern 1165 Misses’ Pull-on Pants, Long or Short Shorts

Fabric used: I’m not sure what type of fabric this is but it is thick, silky, and has a little stretch. Maybe a stretch cotton sateen…

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done? Yes

What size did you cut? 18

Level of difficulty: Easy

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like that it has an elastic waistband and I also like the different design of the pocket pattern.  You only have to cut 2 for the pocket and it is assembled much easier.

Pattern alterations or design changes: I did not use the double elastic waistband method.

Would you sew it again? Yes

Would you recommend it for others? Yes
