Hello all! Today’s DIY is Simplicity 1317 modified. This is a shirt that I lengthened into a dress. I followed the Mimi G Lace Knit Dress October 2015 sew-along to accomplish this look. I absolutely love the fabric she used, and I remembered that Fine Fabrics had a similar print. I also use this pattern to make a shirt using an argyle grey and pink fabric. I have to admit that I really like this pattern because the instructions are very straightforward. It was also easy to lengthen the pattern following Mimi G’s tutorial. However I had to take into account my hips when lengthening this pattern, so instead of going straight down I drew the line at an angle.
I think that I will make one more version of this pattern using a grey and black argyle print next time. I just have to decide whether I want it to be a dress or shirt. See you soon!
